By train
There is no station in Currarong; the nearest is Bomaderry. From there it takes about 2 hours 50 minutes to the terminal, with two changes, at Kiama and Wolli Creek — about $26–29 adult with Opal, including the $18.61 airport station access fee.
Two things worth knowing. From Sunday 15 November 2026, South Coast trains stop calling at Wolli Creek, so the airport needs a change at Sutherland or Hurstville as well — or a ride to Central and back. And the line is electrified only as far as Kiama: south of it a diesel service runs to Bomaderry, so trips from Gerringong, Berry and Bomaderry add a change at Kiama. For a 6am flight with checked bags — at the terminal by 4am — no South Coast train gets you there in time.
The road, and what sets the timing
Currarong sits at the northern tip of the Beecroft Peninsula, at the end of a road that serves nowhere else. It is the most remote of the Jervis Bay villages and the furthest point on the OSPIPO fare list short of the long western runs.
The beach, the boat ramp and the general store are the landmarks. Most accommodation is holiday houses and the road in is unlit for the last stretch.
At about 185 km this is the longest South Coast run at $588, around two hours thirty-five minutes in clear conditions and longer if there is wildlife on the peninsula road at dawn.
