The corridor
The end of the line.
The drive is the standard South Coast run as far as Berry — the Shire, the Royal National Park, Mount Ousley, then dual carriageway past Gerringong and around the Berry bypass.
South of Berry the highway runs down through Jaspers Brush and Meroo Meadow to the river flats, and Bomaderry is the first town it reaches. That is the whole reason this fare is lower than Nowra's: the crossing comes after the town, not before it.
The station is the other thing that defines the place. Bomaderry is the southern terminus of the South Coast Line and there is no rail anywhere beyond it — not to Nowra across the river, not to Huskisson, not to Jervis Bay, not to Ulladulla. Anyone arriving here by train and continuing on is continuing by road.
That makes the station a natural handover. A passenger comes down on the last service, is met at the street entrance and runs on to the bay. It is quoted as its own trip rather than as part of an airport fare, and it is the only sensible way that journey works after dark.
West of the town, the acreages sit under Cambewarra Mountain. Gravel driveways, no street lighting and river fog that fills the flats on autumn and winter mornings and lifts an hour after sunrise. None of that changes the fare and all of it changes how early the car leaves.

Weekday peak on the bridge approach
Traffic heading south into Nowra queues on the approach between 07:00 and 09:00 and again from about 16:00. A pickup on this bank heading north misses it entirely.
