A fare here is the fare in both directions. Sydney Airport to Wollongong and Wollongong to Sydney Airport are $341 each, and a 03:30 pickup costs what a 13:30 pickup costs. There is no night loading, no weekend rate, no public-holiday rate and no meter that could produce a second figure.

Departure timing

When the car has to be at your door.

Worked backwards from the flight, not forwards from a guess. Every row uses the same 80-minute drive time published at the top of this page.

Worked from 80 minutes of driving, plus 10 minutes to load at the kerb, plus 3 hours inside the terminal for an international departure and 2 hours for a domestic one. A 20-minute allowance is added where the drive runs through the morning peak. Arriving instead of departing? Then none of this applies: give the flight number and the pickup moves to the actual landing time, with 2 hours free at T1 and 1 hour at T2 and T3.

The corridor

Arrivals and departures are different problems.

An arrival is governed by the aircraft. Give the flight number at booking and it is tracked; the pickup moves to the actual landing time rather than the scheduled one, and the fare does not move at all. Two hours of free waiting at T1 international, one hour at T2 and T3 domestic, both counted from wheels down.

A departure is governed by arithmetic, and it is the arithmetic most people get wrong. Three hours inside the terminal for an international flight, two for a domestic one, plus the drive, plus ten minutes at the kerb to load. From Wollongong that puts a 06:00 domestic departure at a 02:30 pickup, which is a real number rather than a comfortable one.

T1 is international, on the northern side of the airport. T2 and T3 are domestic, on the southern side, a short shuttle apart. They are not walkable from each other with luggage, so which terminal matters more than most people expect — name the airline at booking and it is handled.

Meet and greet inside the terminal is included on every arrival: your chauffeur waits at the gate with a name sign and carries the bags to the car. It is not an upgrade and it is not charged for. The airport access fee and the parking are inside the published fare too.

A delayed inbound flight

The pickup moves with the aircraft automatically. The fare is unchanged, and there is no waiting charge inside the free allowance.

An early inbound flight

The car is early too. Tracking works in both directions.

A pre-dawn departure

The corridor is empty and the drive is at its fastest, but there is no margin if anything goes wrong. The timing table already assumes the fast version and adds the loading time.

School holidays and Friday afternoons

The southbound run out of Sydney slows from about 14:30 on a Friday and stays slow through holiday periods. Departure timings on this page already allow for the morning peak; for a Friday afternoon, add twenty minutes.

This route

About airport work.

All three. T1 international on the northern side, T2 and T3 domestic on the southern side. Name the airline at booking and the right one is used — they are not walkable from each other with luggage.

The pickup moves to the actual landing time and the fare does not change. Free waiting runs for two hours at T1 and one hour at T2 and T3 from wheels down, so a three-hour delay costs nothing at all — the clock never started.

What a long delay can affect is the diary. There is one car, so a flight that slips far enough to collide with another booking gets a phone call rather than a surprise.

Three hours at the terminal before departure, plus the drive, plus 10 minutes at the kerb to load. Wollongong is 85 km out and about 80 minutes of driving, so a 06:00 international departure means a 01:30 pickup — an uncomfortable number and an accurate one. That 01:30 costs the same $341 as a midday run, and the timing table on this page works the same sum for other departure hours.

No, and there never has been. A 4am pickup is the same published fare as a midday one. There is no night loading, no weekend rate and no public-holiday rate.

No. Airport access and the parking sit inside the published fare, as do the motorway tolls, GST at 10% and the NSW Passenger Service Levy — all 4 of them itemised in the fare breakdown on this page rather than appended at the kerb. The figure quoted when you book is the figure on the tax invoice, paid to your chauffeur at the end by card or cash.

No. Three adults, two large checked suitcases and three carry-on bags is the honest limit of a sedan.

If your booking is bigger than that, say so and you will be pointed at an operator who can carry it. That is a better outcome than a fourth person standing at the kerb at 4am.

No question matches that. Try a shorter word, or ask the concierge.

Book it

Pick the terminal. Keep the number.

Two addresses, a date and a time, and the whole fare appears itemised before anything is asked of you.
